NoLock for Blackboard Assessments
Learn how the NoLock macOS overlay works alongside supported Blackboard assessment and proctoring workflows.
How NoLock works with Blackboard
Blackboard is an LMS rather than a single proctor. NoLock compatibility is determined by the exam browser or proctor that your institution launches from Blackboard.
Compatibility reviewed 2026-10-02.

- Standard visible Blackboard assessment content on macOS
- Supported macOS proctors launched from Blackboard
- Screenshot and chat-based assistance

- Institution-specific Blackboard themes and tools can differ
Frequently asked questions
Is Blackboard itself a proctor?
No. Blackboard delivers course and assessment content. Your school may add Respondus, Honorlock, ProctorU, or another proctor with separate requirements.
