NoLock Precision Autosolver — Setup & Usage Guide

Follow the steps below in order. It takes about 60 seconds to install, works on the latest Respondus LockDown Browser (2.1.6.01), and does not require Recovery Mode or turning off SIP/AMFI.

Read this first: This is an In-Page Auto Solver ONLY — there is NO floating overlay or chat window!

Many users come here from our main page expecting a floating chat box or ⌘H / ⌘S shortcuts. NoLock Precision Autosolver does NOT show a floating window on your screen.

Because the floating macOS overlay is currently under maintenance for Respondus 2.1.6.01, Precision Autosolver works differently: once you click Initialize, the app closes itself and runs invisibly in the background. Inside your exam, you simply press and hold your mouse on any question for 2 seconds and the AI silently marks or fills the answer directly on the webpage.

What it works with:

  • Respondus LockDown Browser: All versions up to and including the latest 2.1.6.01 (plus normal Chrome, Safari, Brave, or Edge).
  • Exam Platforms (LMS): Canvas (Classic & New Quizzes), Blackboard, D2L Brightspace, McGraw Hill Connect, Pearson, Cengage, ALEKS, DeltaMath, Edgenuity, zyBooks, Moodle, Schoology, and more.
  • SIP & AMFI stay ON: You do not need Recovery Mode. Keep macOS System Integrity Protection (SIP) and AMFI enabled so LockDown Browser never complains.

Install NoLock Precision Autosolver

  1. Press ⌘ + Space on your keyboard to open Spotlight, type Terminal, and press Return.
  2. Click Copy below, paste the command into Terminal (⌘V), and press Return:

Terminal will ask for your Mac login password (Password:). Type your Mac password and press Return. (Note: Terminal hides your typing for security — no letters or stars will show while you type. Just type your password and hit Return!)

The installer places NoLock Autosolver.app in /Applications, registers the background helper and certificate so you won’t get repeated password popups later, and opens the app automatically.

Sign in with Google

When NoLock Autosolver opens, click Continue with Google and sign in using the exact same Google account you used to buy your NoLock subscription.

Check your AI Model & System Readiness

On the main Auto Solver tab:

  • AI Model: GPT 6.1 Sol is selected by default (recommended for fast, accurate answers). You can click the dropdown to switch to Claude 4.7 Opium, Gemini 4.1 Ultra, or another model at any time before initializing.
  • Course Materials (Off by default): Leave Answer from my materials turned OFF unless you uploaded your own class notes or study guides in the Materials tab on the left sidebar.
  • System Readiness: Verify that System ready · all checks passed shows at the top of the dashboard (or click Run setup / Repair if Check 1 or Check 2 needs setup).

Click “Initialize” BEFORE opening LockDown Browser

On the Auto Solver tab, click the blue Initialize button.

  • If prompted once for your Mac password, enter it and click OK.
  • The button will turn green (Initialized) and after 1 second the app will automatically close itself.
Why did the app close itself? Don’t worry — that is supposed to happen! Once initialized, the background solver stays active silently so that no NoLock window is open while LockDown Browser checks your running apps.

How to solve questions inside your exam (2-Second Hold)

Now open Respondus LockDown Browser (or open a practice quiz in Chrome/Safari first to test it!) and start your quiz.

The Trigger: Hold Left-Click for 2 Seconds
  1. Move your normal mouse cursor over the question text (anywhere inside the question you want solved).
  2. Press and hold down the left mouse button for 2 full seconds without moving the mouse, then let go.
  3. Wait 2 to 5 seconds while the AI reads the question (and any diagrams/equations) and computes the answer.

Tip: If you accidentally click or move your mouse before 2 seconds are up, nothing happens — normal clicking and scrolling work normally.

Where the Answer Appears (Stealth Output)
1. On Canvas Quizzes (Classic & New Quizzes):
  • Multiple Choice / True-False / Checkboxes: A tiny, subtle dot (·) appears right at the end of the correct answer choice text. Look closely at the end of each option — only you will notice it!
  • Fill-in-the-Blank / Numeric / Essay / Matching: The answer is filled in or shown subtly next to the input field.
2. On Blackboard, Brightspace (D2L), McGraw Hill, Pearson, Cengage, ALEKS & Other Platforms:
  • Auto-Select: Whenever the page allows it, the correct radio button or checkbox is automatically clicked/selected for you, and text/numeric inputs are filled automatically.
  • Bottom-Left Corner Stealth Indicator: If a question cannot be auto-clicked, look at the very bottom-left corner of your screen: tiny 1px gray dots indicate the answer (1 dot = Option A, 2 dots = Option B, 3 dots = Option C, 4 dots = Option D). For short-answer questions, hover your mouse over the bottom-left corner to privately peek at the text answer.

Test on a practice quiz first!

Before your real exam, open any practice quiz in Canvas (even inside normal Chrome or Safari, or a practice LockDown Browser quiz) and try holding left-click on a question for 2 seconds so you know exactly what the subtle answer indicator looks like.

Step 7 · Eject when your exam is finished

After you submit your exam and close Respondus LockDown Browser, open NoLock Autosolver again from /Applications (or Spotlight).

It will automatically detect your active session (Initialized · Active on this Mac). Click the red Eject button to turn off the background solver. Next time you have an exam, just open the app and click Initialize again!
